In August, I painted a mural for the Grammy-award-winning rock band TRAIN. The project was filmed from start to finish to be played as a 4-minute video on a giant screen behind the band during their current concert tour. The corresponding song is their new title track, “Save Me San Francisco.” Check out the video here.

Spice Girls’ “Scary Spice” has her own reality show, and FRESH’s murals will be featured in the show! During “Mel B.: It’s a Scary World,” cameras follow Melanie “Mel B.” Brown right into her home, showing how she balances family and stardom. I had the honor to paint for Melanie’s two wonderful daughters Phoenix (11) and Angel (3). I painted a fun, graffiti-style mural in Phoenix’s room, and larger-than-life butterflies in Angel’s room. Check out the show and see if you can get a peek at the murals!

The Grammy-award-winning rock band TRAIN is back on tour –– and FRESH is joining them on stage! During their live performances of “Save Me, San Francisco,” I’ll be painting in a fast-motion video behind them on a giant video screen. The video shows me painting a large mural of San Francisco, from a blank canvas to a full mural in only 4 minutes. If you’re in LA, check out the concert September 30, 2010 at The Greek Theater. Otherwise, check dates for when Train rolls into your town.

This homeowner proves a man’s house really is his castle! Take a drive up to 1660 Bel Air Dr. to see our complete home makeover.
Our client was inspired by the existing turret on his modern, stucco home. This, plus his love for 13th century castle architecture lead to his idea to turn his house into a castle. After researching hundreds of castle images, I composed a design that would catch the attention of any passersby. And that it did! After a month of painting alongside assistant Patrick Leonhardt, the house became an instant tourist attraction! Complete with faux turret windows, faux wood carriage doors and front door, giant faux iron hinges and bars, a family crest, and painted-wood crenellations at top, this house will certainly catch your eye. Next time your taking a Celebrity Tour of Homes, drive up the road a little further for an unforgettable site!

The Skid Row Housing Trust hosted its grand opening of The Charles Cobb Apartments this June, providing 74 residential homes to individuals experiencing chronic homelessness and disability. I was honored to donate my time alongside designer Suzanne Furst and Marlaina Rosen to create one-of-a-kind murals in the building’s communal kitchen. Three brightly colored palm-tree murals gave the space a burst of color and energy. Our donation was just one of the many contributions provided for this remarkable development.
The Skid Row Housing Trust develops and operates homes for the homeless of Los Angeles, while connecting its residents to services to help them move beyond poverty, illness and addiction. These services include mental health treatment, substance abuse recovery, primary healthcare and more.

The Shops at Anaheim Garden Walk “Anaheim in Motion – History Comes to Life” was a wonderful opportunity bringing 35 community organizations, 20 volunteer artists and hundreds of schoolchildren together to paint 20 giant murals showcasing a pictorial history of Anaheim. I was honored to work with ten energetic kids from the Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim to create a modern interpretation of the Anaheim Flood of 1938. The kids were a lot of fun! And since our mural was intended to have a modern approach, we took a tip from Pollock, laid the canvas on the ground, and threw the paint where it landed. Whatever paint didn’t hit our clothes, ended up creating a dynamic and powerful mural that made the kids proud. Our 18’ x 14’ mural hung among 19 other giant murals throughout the Garden Walk mall, including paintings of the city’s first settlers, Anaheim’s famous orange groves, and of course, Disneyland.

As I was moving into a new Chicago apartment this January during in a full-blown blizzard, I couldn’t shake the image of people lying out on the beach soaking up the same sun I hadn’t seen since November. I love every bit of Chicago, but there had to be a way to have my lake and swim in it, too. I decided to expand my business to sunny Los Angeles. After months of networking in the West, I made the move across the country. The transition has been wonderful. The people of Los Angeles and Orange County have been generous with their time and help. The weather is truly unbeatable. And the ocean is so beautiful, it will bring a tear to your eye. Since my move, I have been back to Chicago several times to create artwork for my clients back home. This has been a wonderful lifestyle between two cities and an easy way to stay in touch with clients, friends and family from my hometown. I look forward to continuing my work in Chicago and Los Angeles for many years to come.
